The girl in Delhi 6 who wants to audition for Indian Idol just danced around her room for a few seconds singing the "Bum Chiki Chiki Bum" song from Ram Jaane. Of all the filmi songs in all the world!
That's probably the very best part of the movie so far, so skewed as it is to my own personal taste, but I'm also liking:
-- The gorgeous array of religious pageantry. Just the backdrops on that Ram Leela performance are awesome!
-- For someone born into show biz royalty, Abhishek sure seems so much more at home in ordinary-guy roles than in more heightened or theatrical ones. I loved it when, during that Ram Leela, he burst out with "Cool! Hey look, it's the golden deer!" Such a nerd!
-- Now that he's settled into this stage of his career, I think Rishi is looking pretty good for an older gentleman. And he 's super-adept at just casually plucking the heart strings.
I have no idea where they're going with this Black Monkey business, but so far, so good.
P.S. Consensus: Well, THAT took a lot darker of a turn than I expected. Not just a scenic, travelogue-y slice-of-life at all (although it was very nice to look at), but pretty darn intense. As we say here in the land of the Scandinavian festival.

SO agree about Abhishek, and I love him being a normal guy so much that I think I could watch him do it every day. Not in every film, as I want him to challenge himself as an actor, but those are the ones I return to. LOVE.
I loved Rishi in this too, and I loved Abhi and Rishi together! New favorite intergenerational jodi!
