The current issue of Rolling Stone describes the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack as "all curry-flavored ghetto fabulousness." Dude, what an original metaphor!
In other song-related news, I finished Dil Chahta Hai last night, so I finally know the origin of that "Jaane kyu, jaane kyu, jaane kyu" song they play all the time in Hyderabad. Now if I could just track down that song that sounds like "Paagal de, paagal de, something something sonaye." The larka sings that line twice, then the larki comes in and sings it twice too. If I had to guess, I'd say it's Udit and Alka, and from the mid-90s, although I'm quite probably wrong on all counts. (I guess Udit because I really picture Shahrukh a lot when I hear it).
